Fat Burning Foods

The following fat burning foods will help you reduce overall body fat and help you uncover those good looking abs.

Water

Water is an important fat burning food. Our bodies contain approximately 70% water. It aids in all of our bodily functions and processes including our metabolism. Drinking an ample amount of water suppresses appetite, rids the body of excess sodium which causes that bloated feeling, flushes our system of toxins, and facilitates the passing of fats through our system before being stored.

Making sure your body is well hydrated will inhibit cravings and help lower your overall caloric intake.

Spicy Foods (Hot Peppers, etc.)

Spicy Foods have been shown to raise body temperature and increase your metabolic rate. Hot Peppers in particular contain a chemical called Capsaicin that speeds up your metabolism which equates to an increase in calories burned. Items with capsaicin make great fat burning foods. Try adding some jalapeños to your salad or have a healthy bowl of chili as a meal a couple of times a week.

Olive Oil

Olive Oil is made of the good fat (mono-saturated fats). Olive oil has many benefits including controlling food cravings, burning fat and lowering bad ldl cholesterol levels. In fact, olive oil is so beneficial that some take a shot of it every morning and base entire diets around it! If you’re not ready for that yet, try making a dipping sauce out of olive oil for a snack.

Grapefruit

Grapefruits contain pectin which is shown to break down fat cells. They are also helpful in lowering cholesterol and enhances fat metabolism. Grapefruits are perfect for breakfast or as a snack during the day.
