Most of us have looked in the mirror at one time or another and have lost all motivation to continue with our Healthy Living goals because we were not satisfied with our reflection. This is especially true if you have been dedicated to a fitness plan. It is very difficult to stay motivated when we do not notice the progress that we have made. One way to observe our progress and stay motivated is to keep a fitness journal.

Fitness Habit | Keep a Fitness Journal

Keeping a fitness journal is a great way to stay motivated. There are all sorts of fitness journals available but most of them allow you to track your strength, weight and sometimes other metrics. Seeing the progress you have made written in a chart will really help you see how far you have come. When you feel unmotivated, go back to the very first entry that you have made and compare those results with your current charts. It is important to remember that progress isn’t only measured by your weight; you should also include other factors such as your strength and endurance which should be annotated in your fitness journal.

Take weekly photos to add to your fitness journal as well. You will be amazed at how the visible changes in your body help you stay motivated. When you are having a “fat” day, compare your current pictures with your previous pictures and I guarantee you will feel better right away.
